Have you seen this before? to be honest, i haven't, but they say that you will see this symbol in front of Batak traditional houses. Well thanks to my ignorant side, i didn't try to look so i don't know if this is an usual symbol or not.
What do you think when you first look at this symbol? Boobies~ lol... and lizard facing the funbags (you pervert!), why the hell they put that in front of houses, right?
On-site guide explained all of those ti us. Spent the time wohoo-ing and wow-ing the beautiful yet ridiculous story. Oh well you can call it gecko too
But why them, why gecko?
Because we can find them in almost every houses, they're everywhere, they just seem to be there in every house. They also have the ability to survive in every condition of the houses (big house, small house) and they also can cling to vertical and inverted surface when at rest. This amazed Samosir people (i guess) so they say, lizard or gecko represents the high adaptability towards life, just like Batak people's ability to live everywhere in any condition. Ok cool, we all should learn theur "clinging" techniques.
I bet you're waiting for this part...
Boobies. why boobies? and why not :P
First breast (okay, breast is better) is a symbol of purity. Second, they symbolize loyalty (till death do us part, awwww~). Third, is a symbol of wealth, i mean the number of children-wealth, not possessions (a lot of children=lots of luck). Fourth, is a symbol of fertility and apparently Samosir people has realized and thought that they have such tremendous benefits from breastfeeding.
This is real story
But, our on-site guide also told us different story. He said that they represent fertility, as in woman's body. The bigger the breast (and buttocks, or body and other things too) the more guys will want you. Yes yes the higher your price will be.
so, are you expensive, my friend? ;)
